Stephanie's Custom Framing & Art Gallery Open Tuesday through Friday 10 am - 5:30 pm Give Your Art Proper Attention "It’s important for my customers to know about the options in framing, and I love to explain the products to people," says Stephanie Helms, owner of Stephanie’s Custom Framing & Gallery located in Doctor's Inlet. With over 27 years in the framing industry, Stephanie offers the knowledge her experience brings to each individual customer. Her shop is one that prides itself in customer communication. "With the right framer, customers should always feel confident that their artwork is receiving the proper treatment for conservation," Stephanie says. The framing industry has come a long way and Stephanie’s shop is proud to offer the best products to its customers. Stephanie says most projects she frames use one of the many types of UV-filtered glass to prevent fading. The shop only carries acid-free matboard and always recommends framing that will not damage the artwork. "If it’s worth framing, it's worth framing right" is Stephanie’s motto. Be aware of the hazards that may be threatening one's most priceless possessions. It's easy to keep up on the ones already framed. Stephanie recommends taking your artwork down to clean it every couple of years to make sure mold, mildew, sunlight, and parasite damage are not damaging the papers and inks. Such damage can devalue expensive prints and ruin original art. "I've found some heartbreaking discoveries when people bring in their older pieces," Stephanie says. "People treasure their artwork and heirlooms, but some don’t realize how damaging the Florida climate is." Stephanie’s Custom Framing & Art Gallery offers new fit-ups for old or previously framed pieces. Fit-ups include disassembling the framing package, cleaning the glass inside and out, reassembling and replacing the dust cover on the back. This is a good way to prevent mold or mildew growth and check for other damage such as fading due to sunlight or parasites that may be eating the adhesives and papers. Stephanie also offers replacement of old glass with UV-filtered glass, as well as rematting and rebacking artwork in acid-free materials. Stephanie offers help and advice with any framing needs. Whether an old piece needing a new fit-up or a newly-purchased treasure, Stephanie will explain what’s best for your specific picture. Stephanie’s Custom Framing also Offers:
